I am so grateful for your engagement and generosity as we finish our second year of ministry at Catalyst for Harmony. We've had the joy of coming alongside several individuals, ministries, and churches seeking to enhance their discipleship initiatives toward racial harmony. While most of our efforts have been in the Twin Cities, we’ve had the good fortune to connect with folks in Raleigh, NC; Tampa, FL; Chicago, IL; Pasadena, CA; Indianapolis, IN; and Dubai, UAE. It’s wonderful to make so many new friends through our work.
We took another group of participants on our Sankofa Journey to Harmony trip in August. It was a profound experience of bringing together diverse voices to understand and embrace our shared history. The insights and bonds formed during these journeys are nothing short of transformative. Our next trip is scheduled for April 23-27th, 2024. We’ve had the opportunity to run several Cultural Agility Workshops and are getting great feedback from participants. The training opens hearts and minds to broader perspectives and cultivates cultural humility while increasing curiosity, understanding, and empathy in relationships. This year has been one of growth and deep learning for us. A highlight was the opportunity to get certified in “High Performing Intercultural Teams” training through KnowledgeWorkx, an international organization that trains leaders, companies, and organizations to improve intercultural agility. This insightful training helps teams build trust, overcome communication barriers, increase alignment with their purpose, and build relational strength. We believe this training will be beneficial to churches and businesses alike.
I’m excited about what lies ahead this year. There is a swelling of movement in the Twin Cities to increase unity in the Body of Christ. Several initiatives are underway, and we look forward to adding to that momentum by launching “Flourishing Together Cohorts.” The cohorts will help leaders and congregants build lasting relationships across cultural and racial lines and equip them with discipleship tools to aid initiatives in unity.
